About Beer Industry of Florida

The Beer Industry of Florida, Inc. (BIF) is a trade association for Florida’s beer distributors headquartered in Tallahassee, Florida. Since 1945, BIF has provided advocacy before Florida government on behalf of its members. BIF encourages the responsible consumption of beer and provides information and services that will enhance members’ efficiency and effectiveness while abiding by all state laws and regulations.

BIF organizes annual conventions and legislative meetings with the goal of bringing together distributors, brewers, and government officials for discussion of important public policy issues. Strengthening the 21st Amendment by promoting, protecting and defending the three-tier system of alcohol distribution remains a primary and constant goal. We are governed by a seven member board of distributors representing companies located throughout Florida. Our members have product portfolios made up of domestic beers, including: Coors and Miller, plus a wide variety of imported beers such as Heineken, Guinness, and Newcastle, along with craft beers such as Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, and Dogfish Head.

While BIF primarily represents the beer distributors of Florida, we support each of the 3-tiers – brewer, distributor and retailer. We have joined together with these partners to promote issues such as responsible consumption and the preservation of the three-tier system before Florida’s elected and appointed officials. In this spirit, many of the brewers and retailers with interest in the Florida market choose to become Associate Members of BIF, making them eligible to attend BIF’s annual conventions and legislative meetings.

BIF is served by an association staff, contract lobbying team, and regulatory counsel headquartered in Tallahassee, Florida. We are led by our Board of Directors and President, Eric Criss.
